The Half-Life mod Counter-Strike will soon be expanded by the add-on Condition Zero. It adds 8 weapons, 32 maps, and more.
TCW releases AppHide (7/19/01)
TCW has just released AppHide, a new Windows program that can hide programs, including itself, and disable CTRL-ALT-DEL,
thus safeguarding any program (i.e. a Half-Life server) from tampering by other users of your computer. Furthermore, if a
program crashes, AppHide can automatically restart it! Get it here.
The current version of AppHide is RC1.1[7].
Half-Life 1.1.0.7 Patch (7/24/01)
Half-Life, the prevalent FPS, has just been patched again. The new patch, available from such sources as
FilePlanet, adds the mod "Deathmatch Classic", which is actually Quake!
All 8 original weapons are here, along with Quake's other features. The old maps currently available to play
are DM2, DM3, DM4, DM6, and E1M2.
The next planned patch, 1.1.0.8, is scheduled to be released in late
August. It will provide built-in voice communication and greatly extended map features. No word yet as to how the voice comm will actually affect lag, though many are skeptical about Valve's claim that there will be no lag increase at all.

If you don't know what ZZT is, try downloading it. It's ASCII, but enjoyable...especially when you download the inspired works [read: products of disordered minds] of ZZT scenario creators.
When you have ZZT, you can download the ZZT magazine I and a few others created called ZZT World. #1 #2 #3 #4
I suggest that you eventually visit the ZZT company AKWare, as it has not only excellent ZZT works, but also many other objects of outright hilarity.
This card trick will see into your SOUL! BWAHAHAHAHA
