7/27 I've
been slacking a bit. Don't except the new version until next week.
Also: Forums coming soon!
7/23 Well,
I was notified of some security issues of RC1.1[6]. Apparently if
you double-click the system tray icon then it doesn't ask you for a password.
**Oops**. Also, the option next to "Restore" is "Exit", allowing
you to exit without a password. Convenient. Lastly, it always
logged <FAILURE> for a successful crash restore. I haven't fixed
the double-click bug yet, hold on. For the meantime, here's RC1.1[7].
Thanks Greentryst.
7/20 We are
finally on server.counter-strike.net.
Good job team, specifically, myself =)
Since we may
be getting more traffic now I've moved AppHide to my FTP server and released
one last version of AppHide RC2. I am now protecting my serves with
it, and I found some more bugs that have been addressed. Check the
BugFix
log here. The documentation is all set too,
if you're having further trouble e-mail
me.
7/19 Yes!
I have finished Release Candidate 2 Fix 5 and started Release Candidate
3. Today I am going to re-write the documentation for RC1.1[5]
7/18 ::SIGH::
I fixed all the variables, but about a thousand little errors that were
unrelated popped up. Here's Release Candidate 2 Fix 4, Version RC1.1[4].
If anyone wants to write the documentation, I'm not stopping you =D
7/17/2001:
***sob*** Why me? Upon testing the program it totally failed as usual.
More variable name mistakes! I should give them meaningful names
instead of a,b,c,d,e,f... Oh well. The logging format is incorrect,
so that's fixed too. So Release Candidate 3 is postponed again.
Here's RC2 Fix 3 (Version RC1.1[3]).
7/16/2001:
Wow! Sooooo many bugs. Almost all of them going back to RC1.0 are
fixed. I keep messing up with my variables. Now that all those problems
are fixed I can FINALLY start on Release Candidate 3.
7/16/2001:
I'm working on RC1.1[2] right now. I fixed the 33 second crash bug,
but I found a MAJOR error: If you restore a password-protected AppHide
window it crashes! This will be fixed shortly. I'm also using
the ShellExecute() API function instead of VB4's Shell() function to see
if HLDS will load properly on crash now.
7/12/2001:
I just started on RC1.2, but I found too many bugs in RC1.1, not to mention
I accidentally linked the download to RC1.0 last night. But today
everything is all set for RC1.1[1]. It fixes a bug that automatically
told you that your password was incorrect, disabled CTRL+ALT+DEL, CTRL+ESC,
and ALT+TAB, and then proceeded to disable itself. All because I
forgot to define a variable =/
We will see
what server.counter-strike.net has to say, I e-mailed them about this potentially
useful new tool. I have not updated the documentation, that takes
a while, and the 33 second crash bug is still there =(
7/11/2001:
OK, I've rounded up list of the features to be release in Release Candidate
3 (RC1.2): A tool to let you start the program on startup and automatically
hide programs, enable autostart, minimize to system tray, etc. You
will also be able to run the program with command line options, such as
"apphide.exe -hide Minesweeper, HLDS". Also, stay tuned for our next
program, |QUASAR|, which will let multiple users use the different Half-Life
settings and spray paints on the fly. Lastly, the program does not
use ClassNames for the hidden list anymore, it uses Window Titles.
7/11/2001:
Yay! AppHide RC1.1 will be released sometime this week. I added a
disable CTRL+ALT+DEL feature and a system tray icon feature. Also
added was a password to unhide itself. If you get it wrong three
times it disables ctrl+alt+del and disables restoring the program.
7/10/2001:
Hello everyone. This is the first, buggy release of AppHide RC1.0.
Please bear with me during the process of releasing this product and email
me with any bugs or suggestions you have. Here is a list of features
for AppHide RC1.1: Disabling of ctrl+alt+del, runs in the system
tray, fixes more than 32 second crash bug.
